Symptoms
When creating a Backup or Clone of a WordPress site via WordPress Toolkit, the below error occurs:
Retrieving rows... mysqldump: Error 2020: Got packet bigger
than 'max_allowed_packet' when dumping table wp_options at row: 3840
Description
When WordPress toolkit exports the database for a site, the max_allowed_packet may not be large enough to create the backup. This issue prevents the MySQL database from being exported or cloned into a new database successfully.
We've reached out to the WordPress Toolkit development team to investigate this issue further. For reference, the case number is EXTWPTOOLK-5654. Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in WordPress Toolkit.
Workaround
The database backup will need to be performed with the cPanel backup feature or MySQL commands in CLI.
